In the summer of 2016 Bootleg Honey was awarded one of five Creative Sonoma Next Level Grants. With the funds the band recorded this original tune at drummer Mark Tarlton's studio here in Sonoma County.
This song was written for Katie's best friend Crystal as a goodbye serenade to her and her family as they embarked on their new adventure to Colorado from Sonoma County in August 2016.
Special thanks to Creative Sonoma, to Mark Tarlton, Bob Olhsson, Max Ramey, and to Crystal McDougall and family, as well as to all of our friends, family and fans for your continued support of our original music and creative journey.
lyrics
Colorado's calling, calling you
I guess sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do
May the angels of the mountains guide you through
Colorado's calling you
Don't look back, keep on driving
Don't look back and see me crying
You got a future worth finding
So damn bright it's blinding
Colorado's calling, calling you
I guess sometimes it doesn't work out how you want it to
May the angels of the mountains guide you through
Colorado's calling you
Close your eyes
Hold your breath
Make a wish, honey
No regrets
It was a long time coming
It was a long time coming
It was a long time coming
Colorado's calling
Colorado's calling
Colorado's calling
Colorado's calling you
May the angels of the mountains guide you through
Colorado's calling you
